Sports project successfully completed

The sports project at Ntronang has been successfully completed by Arjan Kick and Glenn Bovenlander .

They have been able to construct a multi purpose sports field at Ntronang in a period of three months. The youngsters at Ntronang and it's neighbourhood can now engage in different sporting activiies on this field. The accomplishment of this task was not without difficulties and frustrations. Resource Center big success

The computer room in the Resource Centre in Akuase is being used intensively.

Each student of all 7 schools in the village (upper classes of the primary school and secondary school) gets computer classes for an hour a week. Schools from surrounding areas also make use of the ICT-facilities in the Resource Centre. See also the news item on Ghanadistricts.


Oranges for schools

One of BigStep’s first employment projects, the orange orchard, is literally starting to bear fruit. More and more trees are fully grown and bearing fruit. The quantity of fruit is not yet large enough for it to be lucrative to have it processed in a factory, and so the ripe oranges are being distributed among schools in the surrounding area. In this way we contribute fresh fruit to the ‘school feeding program’.

1% club 'filled' library project

The 24-hour campaign of the 1 percent-club was a great success. The project ‘Library Resource Centre Akuase’ in Ghana has been ‘filled’. This means that we can now complete this part of the Resource Centre project. Seats2meet gave the last push and has also put a new development into motion. A new era begins!
